Easy Tips for Sunburn Relief

Despite the old saying that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, it doesn’t always mean that you can be prepared for everything. Even if you have a full stock of sunburn products at your disposal, sunburns can and do still happen. When you’ve fallen victim to the sun’s scorching rays, you want nothing more than to relieve the discomfort.

Here are some tips for sunburn relief—

Aloe Vera

Also known as Aloe barbadensis, the soothing juices of this desert plant are practically synonymous with sunburns. The best sunburn relief gels all contain aloe, and it can also be used on its own, straight from the plant. When you buy sunburn relief products, aloe should ideally be one of the first ingredients. Aloe is especially helpful once the burn starts healing as it soothes itching and keeps peeling to a minimum.

Sesame oil

Sesame oil isn’t just tasty. It’s also a great natural sunscreen and one of the most unlikely sunburn relief products you can imagine. For the best sunburn relief, apply a thin coating to the affected area once daily. If you can’t find sesame oil in your locale, some brands of natural sunburn products may contain it.
